2013 is Treebone's 18th year carving gunstocks. I am a 2nd generation carver, my father being George L. Petersen of Western Gunstock Mfg., Aptos, Calif. You might say I learned the craft by default, I cannot remember not being surrounded by Walnut.
Dad was big into Varmint and Benchrest patterns, but my passion was single shots and leveractions, and that is what inspired Treebone. Over the past 18 years I have accumulated a library of over 200 single shot and levergun patterns and keep 3-4000 dry blanks on hand to choose from.
Deliver a quality product, deal honestly with the customer.
Sometimes I come off as gruff (to put it lightly) but I would talk a person out of buying a stock rather than make a sale to someone that may not be prepared for the job.
